With this new 2-Channel Bluetooth adapter kit, you can play your Spike II pinball with your Bluetooth Headphones on and upset less people in the house with higher volumes…
Up to 2 players can connect to the Bluetooth adapter simultaneously, and experience high quality audio direct to your headset – with the game speakers disconnected, the only sounds that can be heard elsewhere, are the mechanical sounds from the flippers and other coils/mechanisms – great for playing at home, when you don’t want to disturb people, but still want to play with decent audio. The ultimate experience for Rush, Iron Maiden, Foo Fighters etc, but works great for all of the games and we use these here with Sony Headphones and the results are pretty awesome.
Simple to install, it is a case of attaching the adapter to the rear of the coin door, then connecting the adapter to the Spike II mainboard, using existing headers/connectors, then just pair up your headphones to the adapter and you are up and running. Disconnect the main speakers (2 connectors) and all audio is routed to your headphones – the image shows the 2 new connections in green and the speaker connectors to disconnect in red – please make sure mains power is disconnected during installation.
As with all Bluetooth enabled systems, there is a lag between devices, but this adapter features certified APTX Low Latency Certified Components, so the delay is minimal and we have put this to the test in the workshop and at home, and it works well, but you need to check the latency in your bluetooth speakers/headphones as they will play a critical part in the signal chain speed. Tested with Sony and Samsung Headphones and we would recommend those for use with this system. Check your product for aptX Low Latency or FastStream capability for the ultimate experience and zero delay.
