FNIRSI SAG-55
FNIRSI SAG-55 – Intelligent 550W Hot Air Gun
The FNIRSI SAG-55 is a compact, 550 W intelligent hot-air rework gun intended primarily for electronics soldering and rework. It combines PID temperature control, a brushless variable-speed fan, LCD display, programmable presets and an optional smart sleep stand in a relatively portable handheld format. The SAG-55 Pro is an upgraded version which is also featured in our store and this includes a smart magnetic sensor stand, which can automatically control standby and temperature behaviour.
Features
- 550 W maximum heating power for relatively fast heat-up.
- PID temperature control using a microcontroller, intended to provide stable temperature and reduce thermal shock to components.
- Temperature range: 100–450 °C (212–842 °F).
- Brushless fan with 20 adjustable airflow levels.
- Maximum airflow of approximately 80 L/min.
- 1.54-inch 240 × 240 LCD display.
- Three programmable temperature/airflow presets for quick access to commonly used settings.
- Hot/cold air switching, with a dedicated cooling function.
- Magnetic-sensor stand detection on the Pro configuration: placing the gun in the smart stand puts it into standby/cooling behaviour, while lifting it can automatically reactivate heating.
- Automatic safety monitoring through multiple sensors; the heating element is shut down if an abnormal condition is detected.
- Adjustable automatic shutdown: never, 5, 10 or 15 minutes.
- °C/°F temperature display.
- Screen brightness adjustable over 10 levels.
- Temperature calibration points at 120, 220, 320 and 420 °C.
- Heating element is specified as 80 mm long × 21.6 mm diameter and is compatible with 850-series nozzles.
- Relatively low operating noise, specified at <65 dB.
- Handle-mounted controls allow temperature and airflow adjustment without a separate desktop control unit.

Applications
The SAG-55 is primarily an electronics hot-air rework tool, rather than a general-purpose industrial heat gun. Typical applications include:
- SMD component soldering and desoldering
- PCB repair and rework
- BGA rework
- Removing/replacing small ICs and other surface-mount components
- Removing adhesive and heat-shrink materials
- Reflowing solder on PCB assemblies
- Connector and component rework
- Heating small electronic/mechanical components where controlled hot air is preferable to a conventional heat gun
- General DIY/electronics bench work
Its combination of controlled temperature and relatively fine airflow adjustment makes it particularly suited to small-area electronics work.
